About the job

Internal Sales Executive

Location: Leamington Spa
Working pattern: Full-time, five days per week, office-based
Reporting to: Key Account Manager and Director
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 + profit share bonus scheme

Be proactive. Build relationships. Win business.

We’re working with a specialist SME in the hospitality sector, helping pubs, hotels, restaurants and leisure venues create outstanding spaces through outdoor commercial furniture.

They’re looking for a confident, commercially driven Internal Sales Executive to join their team in Leamington Spa. This is a genuine sales role for someone who enjoys speaking to customers, identifying opportunities, preparing competitive quotations and, most importantly, turning those quotations into profitable orders.

You'll be responsible for managing sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to order, actively following up quotations, building customer relationships and generating new business through outbound calling. You won't be afraid to pick up the phone, chase an opportunity or make a cold call to open a new conversation.

Working alongside the field-based Key Account Managers, you'll play an important role in driving sales, maximising conversion rates and contributing directly to the company's growth.

This is not simply a sales administration role. We're looking for someone with a genuine sales mindset who enjoys winning business and is motivated by results.

What you'll be doing

  • Handling inbound sales enquiries, understanding customer requirements and identifying opportunities to sell.
  • Preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound quotations, ensuring pricing protects profit margins.
  • Proactively following up outstanding quotations by telephone and email, keeping opportunities moving and converting quotes into confirmed orders.
  • Building relationships with existing and prospective customers to generate repeat business and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Making outbound sales calls to existing and potential customers, including cold calling to generate new business.
  • Confidently overcoming objections, negotiating where appropriate and asking for the order.
  • Working closely with Key Account Managers to support sales opportunities and maximise revenue.
  • Obtaining supplier costs, delivery information, lead times and stock availability to ensure quotations are accurate and competitive.
  • Managing your sales pipeline, prioritising opportunities and maintaining accurate CRM records using Pipedrive.
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell and increase the value of customer orders.
  • Taking ownership of opportunities from initial enquiry through to order placement, ensuring customers receive a professional and responsive service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a proactive internal sales or telesales role is essential.
  • A proven ability to follow up quotations, convert opportunities and win orders.
  • Confidence and enthusiasm when making outbound calls, including cold calls. You must be comfortable picking up the phone and creating sales opportunities rather than waiting for enquiries to arrive.
  • A natural sales instinct, with the drive, resilience and determination to achieve results.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to negotiate, handle objections and close sales.
  • A commercially minded approach, understanding the importance of pricing, margins and profitability.
  • Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities and prioritise effectively.
  • Good attention to detail when preparing quotations and processing orders.
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently while contributing to a wider sales team.
  • CRM experience, ideally with Pipedrive, would be advantageous.

Understanding the business and its seasonality

The business has a distinctly seasonal trading pattern, with its busiest period running from February to September. During peak season, you'll be managing a high volume of incoming enquiries and quotations, ensuring opportunities are followed up quickly and converted into orders.

During quieter months, the emphasis will shift towards proactive business development, outbound calling, re-engaging previous customers, following up dormant opportunities and generating new sales leads.

You'll need to be comfortable adapting your approach throughout the year and understand that successful internal sales is about creating opportunities as well as responding to them.

Benefits

  • £35,000–£40,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
  • Profit share bonus scheme, rewarding contribution to the business's success
  • 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by two additional days after two years' service.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • Online and in-person training, depending on requirements.
  • Occasional opportunities to visit customers face to face, subject to approval.
  • A varied sales role within a specialist SME where your performance and contribution directly influence business growth.

Ready to win business?

If you're an experienced internal sales professional who enjoys speaking to customers, chasing opportunities, making outbound calls and turning quotations into orders, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven salesperson who wants to take ownership of their sales pipeline, make a tangible difference to business performance and be rewarded through a profit share scheme for contributing to the company's success.
