Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Human Advertising Ltd (trading as GetMeHired.uk) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you search and apply for jobs.
1. Who we are
GetMeHired.uk is a UK job board operated by Human Advertising Ltd (company number 07455860, registered office 22 Queens Road, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN1 2NQ), which works with BeCareers. We are the controller of the personal data you give us when you use GetMeHired.
When you apply for a job, the employer you apply to receives your application and is also a controller of it. Some employers use BeCareers AI screening; BeCareers Ltd then processes your screening on the employer's behalf.
2. Information we collect
When you apply: your name, contact details, your CV, and your answers to the application questions.
If you complete a screening: your answers in the screening conversation, and the transcript, summary and score produced for the employer.
If you create an account: your name, email address and login details.
When you use the site: technical information such as your device, browser and pages visited - analytics only with your consent (see our Cookie Policy).
On your device only: saved jobs and display preferences (such as dark mode) are stored in your browser, not sent to us.
Fields marked as required on the application form are needed to apply - if you leave them out, we can't send your application. If you have accepted analytics, an analytics session identifier is included with your application so we can see which job page led to it.
We don't ask for your date of birth, health information or other special category data. Please don't include it in your CV or answers. If it comes up in a screening conversation, neither we nor the employer should use it to make decisions.
3. How we use it, and our lawful bases
To run the job board and show you jobs - our legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing the job board.
To send your application to the employer you choose, and arrange your screening - to provide the service you ask for (a contract with you). The employer's own privacy notice explains how they use your application.
To run your account and send service messages - to provide the service you signed up for.
To understand how the site is used - your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To send you job alerts or news - only if you opt in.
To meet our legal obligations and protect the service - legal obligation and legitimate interests.
4. Screening and decisions about you
AI screening asks you questions about the role and produces a transcript, a summary and a score for the employer, based on your answers. People at the employer make hiring decisions.
Some employers set must-have requirements, such as a licence the law requires. If your answers show you don't meet one, your application may be turned down automatically. If that happens the employer should tell you, and you can ask a person at the employer to review it, give your view and challenge the decision by contacting the employer you applied to. If you are disabled, you can ask the employer for reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process, including the screening. See what to expect from an AI screening.
5. Who we share it with
Employers you apply to, who decide what happens with your application.
BeCareers Ltd, which runs AI screening for employers that use it.
Amazon Web Services, which hosts our service in London.
Google, for website analytics through Google Tag Manager - only with your consent.
Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Where your data is held
Our service is hosted in the United Kingdom, on Amazon Web Services in London. If you consent to analytics, Google may process data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the UK-US data bridge.
7. How long we keep it
Applications and screening data: deleted at the end of the retention period set for the employer - 180 days by default - unless the employer asks us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it.
Links to screening results expire after 7 days; that does not change how long the underlying data is kept.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
access your personal data and get a copy;
have inaccurate data corrected;
have your data erased, or its use restricted, in some circumstances;
object to processing based on legitimate interests;
receive your data in a portable format, in some circumstances;
withdraw consent at any time;
ask for human review of a decision made solely by automated means.
To use your rights, email hello@getmehired.uk. We will respond within one month, or tell you within that month if we need up to two more months because your request is complex. For an application, we may pass your request to the employer, as they also control that data.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, hosted in the UK, and access is limited to people and systems that need it. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password if you create an account.
10. Age
GetMeHired is intended for people aged 16 and over.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change, and show the date of the latest update at the top.
